Trails

Lacey is graced by more than 500 acres of beautiful parkland and open space, as well as Puget Sound's Tolmie State park at our northern border, and the 3,700-acre Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge forming our Eastern border. With freshwater lakes, three golf courses, miles of paved walking and biking paths and several indoor pools, recreation opportunities are virtually unlimited.

Chehalis Western Trail

This paved pedestrian and bicycle trail runs along lacey's western border, and stretches north 6.5 miles to the Woodard Bay Natural Resources Conservation Area and south 16 miles to the rural town of Ranier. The trail features access to Puget Sound, Chambers Lake, the Deschutes River, wetlands, forests, farm land, creeks, prairies and other habitats. There are numerous trailheads. I-5 Trail

A 3-mile paved urban trail for pedestrians and bicyclists connecting the Lacey Capital campus to the main Capital Campus in neighboring Olympia. Trail parking is available at the Lacey City Hall / Lacey Library Complex at 420 College Street SE.

Lacey Woodland Trail

This paved pedestrian and bicycle trail parallels Pacific Avenue for 1.5 miles through the center of downtown Lacey. Phase II expansion will connect Woodland Creek Community Park to the east and the Chahalis-Western and Olympia Woodland Trails to the west.

William Ives Trail

A 1.5-mile forested walking trail through a nature preserve with fairway views of the Woodlands Golf Course at the Golf Club at Hawks Prairie. trailhead located on Willamette Drive 1/4 mile south of Campus Drive NE.
