City Parks

The city of Lacey is graced by more than 500 acres of beautiful parkland and open space, as well as Puget Sound's Tolmie State park at our northern border, and the 3,700-acre Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge forming our Eastern border. With freshwater lakes, three golf courses, miles of paved walking and biking paths and several indoor pools, recreation opportunities are virtually unlimited.

Lake Lois Park and Habitat Preserve

Shoreline paths around a small picturesque lake fed by Woodland Creek is the setting for this 35-acre natural habitat park. Features a 1/4 mile interpretive nature trail. A picnic table and drinking water are available.

Long Lake Park

Adjacent to the Thurston County Fairgrounds, Long Lake Park features one of the finest swimming beaches in Thurston County, a well a sand-volleyball and barbecue facilities. the 285 feet of beach frontage and swimming area stands in contrast to the ten heavily wooded acres that provide and evergreen entrance to the park site. the upland area has picnic facilities and pedestrian trails through the woods.

Ranier Vista Community Park

this 46-acre park is a high activity site with 2 soccer fields, 3 baseball / softball fields, tennis courts, sand volleyball, basketball, walkways, picnic facilities, restrooms, and a local acces skate park for the beginner and intermediate participant.

Regional Athletic Complex

This 100-acre park, complete with spectacular views of Mt. Ranier, is jointly owned by the City of Lacey and Thurston County. the facility features natural and artificial turf for soccer and baseball fields, as well as picnic and outdoor event facilities, playgrounds, concession areas and walking trails.

Skyhawks Park

Skyhawks Park has 5 baseball / softball fields, one of which is artificial turf. baseball, softball, rugby, soccer, football and basketball are played at Skyhawk. The park has two lit baseball fields and 90' base paths. In 2005 Skyhawk Park became the official home of Cal Ripken Baseball for the Thruston County area.

Thomas W. Huntamer Park

This downtown park is the site of numerous outdoor events throughout the summer, including the Lacey In Tune Concert Series, Children's Entertainment Series, Outdoor Cinema Series, Music at the Market Series, Lacey Farmer's Market ont he Green, Alternative Fuel Fair, and Summer's End Car Show. It's also a great picnic spot.

Wanschers Community Park

A heavily-wooded gem on the shores of Hicks Lake, this 16-acre park features grassy picnic areas, walking trails and breathtaking views of Mt. Rainier (a swimming beach will be added in the future).

Wonderwood Park

Located in the center of Lacey, Wonderwood Park provides 40 acres of natural woodland combined with recreational facilities. take a walk on the paved pathways that thread through the woods, picnic beneath the shelter or at one of the many tables provided. Athletic fields, including two softball / soccer fields, four tennis courts, a basketball court, and a playground with equipment offer plenty of room to play.

Woodland Creek Community Park

Beautiful Woodland Creek meanders thorugh this pastoral 72-acre park. Recently added amenities include restrooms, picnic shelters and walkways. The park aslo serves as home to the Lacey Community Center and the Lacey Senior Center. Long's Pond features youth fishing from dawn to dusk for ages 14 and under.
